On the Day of 23rd of February, the cargo ship “Marne” has started the ship survey at Naval Shipyard in Gdynia.
The overhaul includes mainly: mechanical works while docking as well as seal replacement on the shaft,the coolers cleaning in the bottom valves, replacement anodes on the hull and fittings review.
Apart from that small steel works will be done and preservation-painting works on the hull and inside of the hold.
The service is going to be completed by 5th of March.

 
 
The Cooperation Agreement between the Naval Shipyard in Gdynia and Gdansk University of Technology Print

On the day of 17th of February in the facilities of Centre for Knowledge and Entrepreneurship at Gdańsk University of Technology, the Cooperation Agreement between the Naval Shipyard in Gdynia and Gdansk University of Technology has been signed. The Shipyard was represented by Mrs. Magdalena Smółka the trustee and Mr. Sebastian Błażyński the Operational Director. The University represented: Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Innovation Jacek Mąkinia, professor, Vice-Dean for Science at the Faculty of Mechanics Assoc. Eng. Marek Szkodo , professor and the Managing Director of Centre for Knowledge and Entrepreneurship at Gdańsk University of Technology Damian Kuźniewski. Signed agreement refers to the cooperation in the area of technologies and designing of shipbuilding and shiprepairing as well as the mechanical and electronic devices ship.

 
 
The repair of the cargo vessel Fri Star Print

On the day of 12th of February, the cargo vessel “Fri Star” of Norwegian ship owner Kopervik has entered the Shipyard. The class overhaul of the ship includes: hull conservation with anodes exchanging, review and measuring of line shaft as well as seals exchanging. Apart from this the ship propeller is going to be dismantled and assembled. The review and checking the steering gear will be carried out as well as testing of air cooling device SG. Otherwise another reviews will carry the oil cooler SG, the oil cooler of transmission, outboard valves and anchor windlasses. The scope of works involves also dismantling, washing, review and measuring the anchor chain, preservation of anchor chamber, washing, preservation of the hold and repair of the covers if need.
There will be also carried out the steel works on the hull and in the tanks. The overhaul is going to be completed after 8 days.

On the 30th of January The Chief of the Polish Armed Forces Lieutenant General Lech Majewski and the Inspector for The Polish Navy Rear Admiral Marian Ambroziak paid a visit to the Naval Shipyard S.A. The actual state of work progress on the Patrol Boat “Ślązak” were main topic of the meeting. The delegation attended also the Retired Major General Bogusław Pacek The Counsellor of the Minister of National Defence.
